Children of Majdan in Krakow
The first group of seven charges, after the hardships associated with obtaining visas and making passports, arrived on April 28, 2014 to Krakow for a week's stay. The honorary patron of the campaign was the Mayor of the City of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski.
It was a group of students aged 18-23. Youth came from Lviv to Krakow by train PKP Intercity (tickets were funded by this company). The participants were accommodated in the Nawojki Dormitory, and the volunteers distributed ID badges and promotional materials. Thanks to the courtesy of the SMAK UKRAIŃSKI restaurant in Krakow, participants were provided with warm meals. Already on the first day, the Ukrainian youth got acquainted with Polish students who study Ukrainian philology at the Jagiellonian University. The pupils actively participated in integration activities, made contact with Polish students and lecturers. During the stay, young people visited Krakow, including: Wawel, museum in the Sukiennice underground and other famous places in Krakow and Kazimierz including places related to Ukrainian culture. The participants of the MAJDAN CHILDREN project visited Wieliczka, and two people underwent therapeutic treatments in the spa - the salt mine in Wieliczka. A surprise was the workshop in KRAKOW MANUFAKTURZE CZEKOLADY founded by this company.
